TrainingPeaks Training Program
For an Olympic- or Half-Distance Event
We are happy to introduce our ATAC training program in trainingPeaks, for free!
Our Training & Coaching director, José Lozano, has designed this program for Beginner and Intermediate athletes preparing for an Olympic- or half-distance Triathlon.
Please see the guide below if you are interested in following the program, and don't hesitate to contact the LT team if you have any questions!
Things to note before the start of the plan:
This is standard plan; it is important that each athlete adjusts some sessions to their own abilities.
It will be highlighted on some specific sessions. The intent of the plan is not only to get you ready for your goal, but also to create a community of people training together, sharing knowledge and having fun together.
You’ll need to create a Trainingpeaks account in order to get access to the plan. It is free but you have the possibility to upgrade to premium (€9 per month).
The premium account gives you the possibility to move or change any training as well as access to metrics and dashboards. With the free account you can only move workouts to the current day (you can select a past or future workout and click on do today). You’ll be added under a coach (Jose), but this is just the way to get your plan assigned.
Please note this plan doesn’t include coaching. One of the goals of the group is to create meetups and try to do some of the trainings together.
Of course everyone not doing the plan will be welcome to join these sessions, and a lot of sessions will be shared with weekly ATAC sessions)

KEY THINGS BEFORE STARTING THE PROGRAM
Please read carefully the plan instructions in trainingpeaks. This is a general plan and might not fit everyone! Please be mindful of that and always adjust volume and intensity to your own level of fitness. Remember, consistency before “hero workouts”, staying healthy and not injured will pay off over very hard workouts on the long term.
A sports watch or tracking device is necessary to automatically upload workouts on trainingpeaks.
Follow the steps on the guide to link your device (Garmin example): TrainingPeaks guide to link Garmin.VERY IMPORTANT – Correctly setup your training zones (Heart rate, pace and power if you have those).
Please consult a coach or any other experienced ATAC member if you are not sure about a test (some recommended tests might be too hard for beginners). TrainingPeaks guide to set up your zones.
